Our story
Independent, local, and focused on one thing: findings you can defend.
RGV Thermal is an independent, locally owned and operated inspection company based in the Rio Grande Valley, operating as a DBA of Wescale LLC. We’re not a franchise and not a fly-in crew — we live where we fly, and our reputation rides on every report we deliver.
South Texas is one of the hardest environments in the country on buildings, roofs, and electrical equipment. Months of triple-digit heat bake roofing membranes and stress every connection on a panel or a pole. And because problems here build up invisibly — wet insulation, a hot lug, a failing solar string — most owners don’t find out until the repair bill arrives.
Thermal imaging flips that. A drone-mounted radiometric camera sees the temperature signature of a defect long before it becomes a failure, and it documents that signature with a measurable reading. We started RGV Thermal to bring that capability to the Valley with local accountability: one team, one enterprise-grade aircraft, and reports written for the people who have to make decisions with them.
Extreme heat loads on roofs
Valley summers push roof surfaces to punishing temperatures day after day. That heat ages membranes fast — and it also creates the thermal contrast that makes drone scans so effective at mapping trapped moisture.
Fast-growing Texas solar
Solar capacity is expanding quickly across Texas, from utility-scale arrays to rooftop systems. Every one of those panels degrades silently without periodic thermal screening — hot cells and dead strings don’t announce themselves.
Storm-season moisture intrusion
Hurricane and storm season drives wind-blown rain into roofs and envelopes. The water that gets in stays invisible until it’s expensive — a thermal survey finds it while a targeted repair is still an option.
